The Southwest Georgia Department of Public Health is encouraging residents to know their status when it comes to HIV.
The department is hosting “Know Your Status” events each month in Dougherty, Colquitt and Grady counties.
During the event, you can take a free HIV test at that Department of Public Health and usually get your results back within a minute.
Below is when tests are offered:
- Dougherty County: Every Tuesday from 9 a.m. – noon
- Colquitt County: The second Monday of every month from 8 a.m. – noon
- Grady County: The third Thursday of every month from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Officials with the Department of Public Health said they are working to implement the “Know Your Status” events in other counties.
You don’t have to bring anything to the health department to get tested.
